TiE Denver launches Colorado Start-Up Power Rankings
Denver, Sept. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TiE Denver, the Colorado chapter of TiE Global, a nonprofit venture devoted to entrepreneurs across all industries, in all stages, today announced the creation of the Colorado Startup Power Rankings.
“Within our cluttered investor space, there is a huge challenge for investors and entrepreneurs alike to arrive at a reasonably standard approach to ranking companies ready for funding,” said Jeff Schell, director of community partnerships. “As a part of the new TiE Denver, we are bringing in our community partners to collaborate with Colorado entrepreneurs and investors in a unique evaluation method.”
Promising Colorado startups will be assessed and ranked by employing metrics used by venture capitalists to create the Colorado Startup Power Rankings. Once compiled, the rankings will help investors both within and outside of TiE to have a quick point of reference when sourcing investment opportunities. TiE stands for “The International Entrepreneurs”.
The rigorous startup evaluation will follow a standardized rubric, and the “Power Panel” of three judges will evaluate each startup’s presentation according to the scoring rubric. Judges are vetted as TiE Charter Members and qualified officials of a TiE Community Partner.
The initial Colorado Startup Power Rankings judging session will take place at Denver Startup Week, followed by quarterly Power Ranking Socials. TiE Denver has been selected for two presentations at Denver Startup Week, including the Propel Pitch event, a pitch competition where the ranking will first be utilized.
TiE Denver and Community Partners will celebrate the top 50 companies in the Colorado Startup Power Rankings at a gala event in November. The Power Rankings kickoff will be during Denver Startup week Sept. 25th at 6:00 p.m. at Galvanize. Register at denverstartupweek.org.
